Crime Victim Assistance Program

The Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) offers free counselling services to eligible crime victims within a year of experiencing a crime in BC.  Family members may also qualify.

An exception to this time frame is in the case of sexual abuse or assault which took place in BC, whereby services for sex-crime victims are available throughout the victim’s lifetime.  For example, if they were sexually abused as a child, they may apply as an adult.

In order to qualify for sexual abuse/assault counselling, the client must write a statement about their experience and provide collateral information, but notably it is not necessary to file or have filed a claim against the perpetrator.

I can support you if you would like to seek coverage through CVAP, and am I registered to offer therapy through this program.
